MILAN 0.27 to 28 February and 1 BIRTHDAY MMC
"A YEAR OF GLORY!"
It 's been exactly one year since, also in Milan and more these days, Claudio explained to me his plan to create a Mod Club that would group boys and girls (mostly under 25) of the peninsula, not with the intention of creating yet another Italian modernist scene, but to give a strong and recognizable to those who had just overlooking the scene of the Mods Italians, with the greatest respect to those who preceded us, yet also with a strong desire to "be someone ", hence the name of Marietta, to indicate our desire to go to the maximum, forge ahead and make the most of this.
And so after 12 months in make up and down Italy, and often happy with little money but will ALWAYS be there, we gathered to celebrate our first birthday in two days that confirmed that we are now a reality: just mention the English DJ and hosted more than 130 appearances on Saturday night .
But for once I would not want to talk about how many mods were present, what kinds of dj's have played ... etc.etc. but simply to list, as a kind of stream of consciousness, all the images that I was impressed and that most closely preservation of this long year. So here is that Clod freakeggia wrapped in his scarf and careless of the eyes of many Albissola, Dec which is worthy of the best David Letterman jokes about everything and everyone, Carlino and the look is appalled that whenever the conversation between the two of us slips on political, Luke and choruses that lash together a prey to the fumes of alcohol under the arcades of Piazza Statuto, Simo and 35 minutes (cronometrati!) "no one likes us ..." in Reggio Emilia, Faith and her impeccable style, Lama and his notorious case of the trumpet ...;-), William and his cans of iced tea, Igor baccaglia that all the prettiest girls, Skarpie chorus that sings with me trevisan in dialect, Maggie and her mischievous smile and Francesca that each picture is covered, modest, generous (... and abundant!) necklines ...
This more than anything else is imprinted in my mind (and in my heart): A group of boys who share a "common feeling" that goes beyond the clothes, the scooters or the music (though important), and a way differrent controcorente to live their youth to the end and without compromise.
