ALLNIGHTER-ROME, 12/07
Although it has already been a lot of days, are still upset dall'Allnighter of 12 July in Rome. For me, the day began at 4 pm, when the Buiaccaro arrives bringing with him two welcome guests, Paul and Clod, in direct route from Sardinia! After the usual rounds to buy some records and some clothes, we move straight on that of San Lorenzo, where Stefanino, the other Roman and another thirty mods from all over Italy ahead. In a Campari and discussion groups on the new model of the channel (interspersed by the delirium of the Beatles and the curses of Antonio Marcellino for the now "normal" failure Vespa) arrive everyone had expected, from Pordenone to Cosenza. Just enough time to get to the nearest tavern-restaurant something to eat (those who opt for a kebab, some for the chicken with sweet peppers ...) and we are at the restaurant, whose entrance is totally occupied by the scooter, at 11. Meanwhile, the very busy Beat Tony has arranged the system properly and we're ready to get on track, obviously after having well-sprinkled with talcum powder (for this purpose the providential intervention of Daniel). The first step is rightfully a Clod: and the temperature of the room, already warm due to an air conditioner a little reluctant, reaches absurd levels when they all begin to dance the best Beat ever selected (and someone went around with his shirt open and a flower ear ...). Great Clod! Now is the time after Tony beat that we hear in his excellent 45 "northern and rare, always clean, always able to fill the track ... the place is full and who is not leaning on the bar to drink is pleasantly obliged to demonstrate the steps they know. When Tony put our" A Town Called Malice "and we see Stefanino closer to the console, and I Buiaccaro we look in the eye and get ready ... we are preparing to give away even the last bit of energy that comes with the ska ... surprise, the first two notes of "My Boy Lollipop" by MillieSmall. But not enough. After the sound upbeat, does not hesitate to powerpop of '79, which finds its climax in "Going Underground" of Jam ... I do not remember exactly what happened but I still have the image of Buiaccaro, and Daniel Marcellino embracing and dancing down on me. I look at my watch, it's 2! A new passage to one of Pablo head more, with some pieces on the plate that made it impossible for anyone to stand still ... At 4:30 am the comment of one of the local managers was: "But a house do not have it ?"... but the air conditioning had begun to operate and no one wanted to stop dancing. It would be useless then tell you the reactions to "My Generation": the classics always have their effect! Last passage of Clod, and immediately after "Shout" the Isley Brothers, our dj pearl that gives us "God I" of Stauto ... What better conclusion to an evening so fair, organized by the mods for mods? Thanks Clod and to all others who have come ... soon! Keep on burning!
